Info

This key covers all Banchinae genera and some species listed as occurring in northern Europe. Due to the taxonomically unstable nature of the subfamily and the limited available literature I only felt comfortable providing species level identification for some of the smaller genera. It's also worth noting that the key is focused on females. Identification of males belonging to most genera should be possible, though distinguishing male Lissonota and Cryptopimpla is currently not supported.

The small genus Helotorus is not included. I will add it once I’ve gotten access to a description of it.

Missing genera

  • Helotorus
