Description

A rather small species with a distinctly protruding, relatively thick and laterally compressed ovipositor that is shorter than the abdomen. Body greenish or blueish. Legs extensively darkened and often with a characteristic brown spot at the base of the middle tibiae. Hind tarsi whitish basally and dark apically.

Ecology

Parasitoid of Brachycerans. Reared from Chamaemyia juncorum.

Distribution

Widely distributed throughout the Palearctic.
