Abdomen sometimes almost completely black, otherwhise the tergites lack complete black bands along the posterior edges. Hind tibiae lighter, broadly yellow at the base, sometimes not darkened at apex. A larger and more common species.
Abdomen never completely black. Central tergites always with dark and often triangular bands along the posterior edges. Hind tibiae darker, usually reddish yellow at the base and always broadly dark at apex. A smaller and rarer species.
